"Just received my V3 Grand module. Got it cheap off ebay. Connected it with my beloved PC3X. Works like a charm. 3GB full of great AP and EP programs plus a handful of organs, strings and pads. The two main piano samples are a Boesendorfer Imperial and a Steinway D. A total of 127 multitimbral programs. So far I think it's a cool addition to my PC3X and a serious upgrade of the PC3's piano sounds. The PC3 velocity maps fit the V3 module perfectly. Most of the time I am using vmap no.8 PianoTouch so far.
I had the V3 Grand for two days now and I like it very much. It's AP sounds in particular are full, rich and vibrant. Sound quailty is on par with the best virtual or sampled pianos I played recently. Especially the lower octaves from C4 downwards are incredibly strong and authentic. Compared with Korg Module Ivory - which is not bad at all - I like the V3 Grand better, much better.

I am not overwhelmed by the EPs though. They are usable but not up to the best like Scarbee's EP88 or such. The same goes for most of the other sounds. Usable, but something is missing. Anyway, the APs alone are well worth the money I paid. The rest is a free give-away if you will.

The connectors and pots are well thought out. The USB jack is class compliant. This means you can play the V3 with any USB keyboard. USB keybords get powered by the V3. When the V3 isn't hooked to my PC3 I am using a Korg NanoControl to set the V3's midi controller parameters like ENV, LP filter, FX and such. No PC or MAC needed. Pretty cool."
